Food prices in Ukraine will rise

This situation may arise as early as next year.

Due to historical tax increases in Ukraine, imported goods may turn out to be cheaper than domestic ones starting next year. Economic expert, candidate of sciences in public administration Yuriy Gavrilechko spoke about this on the air of “Kyiv 24”.

He noted that the state budget for next year provides for a significant imbalance between the volumes of exports and imports. We are talking about a “fantastic difference” of several tens of billions of dollars.

“Accordingly, we can expect a rather unexpected situation, especially considering the increase in taxes within the country, when imported food products will cost less than domestic ones,” he warned…
