From ambition to reality. 5G is being tested in Ukraine, but the prospects are vague – UNIAN
In Ukraine, during the war, there are more and more rumors about the introduction of 5G and a pilot project has already been launched. UNIAN has learned what changes this technology will bring to the lives of Ukrainians, and the possible launch of the next generation in the minds of war.
At the fall of 2024, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mikhailo Fedorov, made a resonant statement: even before 2030, Ukraine plans a complete transition to a new communication standard – 5G technology. And the first steps have already been completed – 5G projects have been launched in Lviv, Kiev and Odessa.
According to the official, 5G is not just more flexible Internet connection. This technology is new and is already available in over 90 countries around the world. The European Union plans to completely cover all areas and major highways with 5G by 2025. Then this process will end now…
