The Russian gas company Gazprom announced the cessation of gas supplies to Moldova. The decision will take effect on the morning of January 1, 2025.
The Gazprom press service reported that supplies would be stopped allegedly due to Chisinau’s refusal to resolve the issue of debt for gas supplies. The corresponding notification was sent to Moldovagaz.
The Russian gas monopolist accused Moldova of failure to fulfill payment obligations under the current contract, which is a “significant violation of its terms.”
