On the morning of December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit for the first time in two and a half years.
According to Bild, Scholz's trip to Ukraine was planned even before the beginning of the government crisis in Germany and the split in the ruling coalition. The Chancellor wanted his visit to take place after the US elections and before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, which will take place in January.
We will remind you that the Chancellor of Germany last visited Kyiv in June 2022 together with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and the then prime minister of Italy Mario Draghi.
