German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Kyiv on a surprise visit on Monday morning. Spiegel writes about this.
As Scholz said upon arrival, with his visit he wanted to express his solidarity with the country. Germany “will remain Ukraine’s strongest supporter in Europe,” Scholz promised and promised quick arms deliveries.
“At the meeting with President Zelensky, I will announce additional weapons worth 650 million euros, which should be delivered in December,” the chancellor said, adding that Ukraine can rely on Germany: “We say what we do. And we do what we're talking.”
