German Chancellor reacted to the fall of the Assad regime – UNIAN
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on the dramatic events in Damascus and the overthrow of the long-standing regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
Scholz noted that Assad brutally oppressed his own people and is responsible for countless lives. He added that he forced many people to flee Syria, many of whom moved to Germany, BILD reports. “The Syrian people are suffering terribly, so the end of Assad’s rule in Syria is good news,” the German chancellor stated.
