Athens has decided to hand over missiles that are no longer used for defense purposes to Ukraine

Greece will transfer 24 Sea Sparrow missiles to Ukraine. The missiles, which have been in service for almost 40 years, have been withdrawn from the stockpiles of the Greek Navy and Air Force because they are not needed for operational use.

This was reported by the publication ekathimerini.

This aid is in line with Greece's commitment to support Ukraine, it will not weaken Greece's defense capabilities in the Aegean Sea.

Despite repeated requests from allies to hand over more advanced systems, such as the S-300 and Patriot missiles, Athens flatly refused, citing security concerns and the lack of reliable replacements for those systems.
