How long can birds fly

Observing swifts by a group of scientists made an amazing discovery.

Air travel between countries may seem grueling and long for humans, but for birds it is a common experience. Moreover, even the longest flight in the world cannot compare with what an ordinary swift is capable of, writes IFLScience.

The publication said that Welsh ornithologist Ronald Lockley suggested back in the 1970s that swifts are capable of flying for 10 months in a row without landing on the ground. However, a group of researchers from Lund University in Sweden was able to confirm this theory only in 2016.
