Ukrainian forces have already managed to hold out in the Kursk region longer than was predicted at the beginning of the operation.

Ukrainian troops have lost about half of the territory captured in Russia's Kursk region, and may lose the rest in a few months. This potentially deprives Kyiv of important leverage in the ceasefire negotiations with Russia.
