France is transferring Mirage 2000-5F fighters to Ukraine, which should expand the aviation capabilities of the Defense Forces. However, there is no talk of participating in air battles yet.

Colonel of the Air Force of Ukraine, test pilot Oleksandr Lykhodid told about this on Kyiv24.

According to Lykhodid, France has up to three dozen such aircraft, which will be modernized for Ukraine to meet the specifics of the war.

“Russian aviation has serious advantages, in particular Su-35 and Su-30SM missiles and aircraft, which exceed the capabilities of the Mirage. Therefore, their main task is not aerial combat, but the use of air-to-surface missiles, such as SCALP and other French analogues. They will strengthen our capabilities on a level with the Su-25 and Su-24,” he noted.
