How teenagers are affected by the active use of social networks: a study by scientists – Miscellaneous

Scientists from Canada, as the Lady resource writes, conducted a study on the impact of social networks on the emotional and physical state of teenagers. It was established that the active use of social networks causes a decrease in self-esteem and eating disorders in teenage children.

Experts have found that children who spend the most time online have low self-esteem. And this phenomenon has been observed since the first year of using social networks.

Experts note that low self-esteem is the cause of eating disorders in teenagers. Symptoms of these disorders usually appear in the second year of active use of social networks.

As part of their experiment, scientists interviewed up to four thousand teenagers over five years. Scientists note that the data was collected in 30 secondary schools.
