During the cold season, the doctor recommends paying special attention to nutrition: “A diet rich in vitamin C, such as oranges and bell peppers, will help strengthen the immune system.” You should also include foods containing vitamin D in your menu.
Hydration also plays an important role. “Although the temperature may be lower, the body loses water through breathing and dry skin,” the specialist notes and advises drinking warm water, herbal teas and broth.
Other doctor's advice: dress appropriately for the weather and avoid hypothermia; wash your hands regularly; get enough sleep; exercise regularly; avoid places with large crowds of people; reduce the amount of sugar you consume and give up alcohol.
