How to chop an onion so it melts in your mouth

The chef shared two cutting techniques.

Chopping onions is part of many recipes, but few can do it as masterfully as a chef.

Experienced cook Matt Broussard noted that the classic technique is “easy” to master. As Ehrges writes, first you need to sharpen the knife. Next, trim both ends of the onion and cut it in half.

Cover the root of the vegetable and cut it horizontally. Then we cut it on the side and chop it in the usual way.
