How to make a simple sponge roll
This dessert has a bright citrus aroma and taste.
Homemade sponge roll may seem a bit complicated. However, it is enough to cook it correctly at least once, and it will no longer be such a mystery.
Cook James Martin has developed a recipe for lemon dessert. You don't need many ingredients to prepare it. You only need:
- butter for greasing;
- eggs – 3 pcs;
- powdered sugar – 115 g + 4 tbsp;
- zest of 1 lemon;
- flour – 115 g.
For the glaze you need to take 200 g of powdered sugar, 125 g of butter, 2 tbsp. lemon juice and 125 g lemon curd.
Preheat the oven to 200C/gas 6. Grease a 33cm x 23cm loaf tin and line with parchment.
