How to overcome the most common gender stereotypes about women — TSN Exclusive


Despite progress towards gender equality, stereotypes still shape everyday life in the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). A baseline survey of gender norms and stereotypes in the region, conducted by the EU program for gender equality, showed that prejudices about the role of women in society continue to hinder progress.

On the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, website TSN.ua asked experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine to explain the origins of the most common stereotypes and disprove them in order to understand how each of us can influence the situation in everyday life.
