how to shoot down a new Russian missile – UNIAN

Ukraine does not have them in service.

Kremlin ruler Putin lied that Russian Oreshnik ballistic missiles could not be intercepted. There are anti-aircraft systems that are capable of this.

Fabian Hoffmann, a researcher at the Oslo Nuclear Project, spoke about this in an interview with CNN. According to him, some American and Israeli-made anti-missile systems will be able to shoot down several warheads:

“Systems like Aegis' SM-3 or Aegis Ashore, and most likely Arrow 3 and THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) can absolutely handle this type of threat.”

The military analyst noted that the economic factor is a bigger problem than the interception itself, since it would take a large number of interceptors to shoot down all the warheads.
