“I have to take care of my parents”: how the court punished the petitioner from Ivano-Frankivsk region


The man was found guilty under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Evasion of conscription for military service during mobilization”) and sentenced to one year in prison.

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a 41-year-old man was sentenced to one year in prison for evading mobilization. He refused to serve and protect Ukraine, citing personal reasons.

As noted in the verdict of the Tysmenysky District Court, published on December 10, the man passed the military medical commission on August 31, 2023, which found him fit for service. He was ordered to appear at the territorial procurement center (TCC) on September 1, but he did not do so.
