Due to the fall of the ruble in the Russian Federation, prices for a number of imported products will increase. It is expected that in the next month and a half the rise in price will be 10-20%.
Forbes writes that at the end of November, bananas in Russia rose in price by 8.8% year on year to $1.19 per kilogram, tangerines by 10% to $2.43/kg, and oranges rose in price over the year by 1% to $1.9/kg.
In addition, before the New Year holidays in Russia, prices for local products may rise by another 5–10% due to the weakening of the ruble.
It is noted that perishable imported goods such as fruits and vegetables react most strongly to the fall of the ruble.
