In 2024, 114 new cases of HIV infection were registered in the Kirov region

The Ministry of Health of the Kirov Region shared information on this issue on the eve of World AIDS Day. Details are provided on the department's website.
The regional Ministry of Health reports that almost 2 thousand people with positive HIV status are registered in the Kirov region. In less than a year 2024, 114 new cases were recorded. However, the infection rate in the Kirov region is lower than in a number of other regions, including Moscow, the Perm region and the Sverdlovsk region.
The department says that the main risk group is men aged 30 to 45 years, not officially married and without higher education. Another vulnerable segment of society are people prone to using psychoactive substances, including alcohol.
