In Canada, a passenger plane caught fire during a hard landing at Halifax Airport. The incident occurred with an Air Canada airliner, the airport was temporarily closed, passengers were evacuated without injuries, CBC News reports.
The hard landing occurred on Saturday evening, December 28. Air Canada Flight 2259 arrived from St. John's, Netherlands. The airliner made a hard landing, after which part of it caught fire.
Eyewitnesses said that during landing the plane began to tilt to the left, which caused a strong impact, and one of the wings slid along the runway. The video from inside the plane shows sparks.
