The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis, said that Western countries give Ukraine “a meager help“compared to what money was spent on Iraq and Afghanistan.
He said this before the start of the second day of the meeting of defense ministers of NATO countries, reports Public radio.
“There is an illusion that we cannot somehow provide Ukraine with everything it needs. And that's why we're just digging in the dirt, trying to find a couple of hundred million euros or dollars to support Ukraine. But if you look at the conflicts that were in the recent past – let's take Afghanistan and Iraq – we spent trillions on these wars. Therefore, if we compare how much we spent on Ukraine, it is a pittance,” said Landsbergis.
