In the north of Germany, a 17-year-old teenager was arrested, who was probably preparing a terrorist attack – he was supposed to run over people with a truck.
This is stated in a report by dw with reference to the German media and the prosecutor's office of the city of Flensburg in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
According to mass media, the teenager was arrested on the evening of November 6 in the city of Elmshorn. It became known that he is a German citizen of Turkish origin. Sources also revealed details about his intentions.
The terrorist attack was supposed to happen at one of the Christmas markets.
A representative of the Flensburg prosecutor's office, Bernd Winterfeldt, confirmed the arrest, saying that the teenager is suspected of “preparation of a serious violent crime that threatens the state”, as well as conspiracy to murder.
