The Romanian Constitutional Court has annulled the results of the first round of elections, rfi reports.
This decision was made after an urgent meeting where requests to cancel the first round were considered.
“The court cancels, on the basis of paragraph f of Article 146 of the Constitution, the entire electoral process concerning the election of the President of Romania,” the court noted.
It is noted that the government will set a new date for the elections, and the electoral process will be restored in full. In its statement, the court said that free election procedures were not followed.
