In the Antarctic, penguins staged a territorial conflict – Tsikavinka

An aggressive Antarctic penguin tried to “squeeze” the nest from subantarctic penguins.

An unexpected guest came to the Ukrainian Antarctic station “Vernadsky” – an aggressive Antarctic penguin. Polarists call him “policeman” because of the black stripe on his chin, which resembles a strap on a helmet.

This was reported by the press service of the National Antarctic Scientific Center.

“First he appeared near the pier and apparently discovered some disturbances in one of the nests of subantarctic penguins – these are the ones that live on our island by the thousands. The unexpected guest began to come to this nest and peck at its inhabitants. The couple there actively fought him off.” – the message says.
