Javier Mascherano headed Inter Miami — Sport

“Inter” Miami announced the appointment Javier Mascherano for the position of head coach.

The American club announced this on its official website.

The ex-player of “Liverpool” and “Barcelona” signed a contract with the Miamians until the end of 2027. The Argentine replaced his compatriot Gerardo Martino on the coaching bridge.

Mascherano was thus reunited with his former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who now play for Inter Miami.

Mascherano began his coaching career in 2022 and has worked with Argentina's U-20 and U-23 national teams. The 40-year-old specialist was the head coach of the Albiceleste at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
