“As for my future… I decided that I would not finish. We have some negotiations coming up with Dana (White), and if everything works out, we'll give you what you want. We have options. We’ll see what Dana and Hunter want,” Jones said after winning his title fight by knockout against former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
The fight between Jones and Miocic took place at UFC 309 in New York at the Madison Square Garden arena. Bony defended his UFC heavyweight title (up to 120 kg) for the first time.
