K1 – Syrian rebels seized Russian radar – UNIAN

In Syria, rebels captured the Russian Podlet-K1 radar surveillance system near the city of Hama. Such equipment was in service with the 25th Special Forces Division, formerly known as the Tiger, an elite unit considered one of the most effective in Bashar al-Assad’s troops, The Telegraph writes.

The publication noted that the low-altitude radar surveillance system can track up to 200 targets simultaneously, especially those that fly low. In addition, Podlet-K1 is important both for local air defense and for Russia's internal defense against Ukrainian attacks.
