The Russians are trying to deprive Ukraine of nuclear generation by deliberately attacking substations important for its operation.
Power engineers managed to preserve the integrity of the power system and ensure its stable operation. Therefore, there is no catastrophic scenario in the energy system of Ukraine after massive shelling by Russia.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Mykola Kolisnyk, said this on the air of the telethon.
“Measures were promptly taken to localize the consequences after the 11th massive shelling. We switched from emergency shutdowns to hourly shutdown schedules, which are used to balance the power system,” Kolisnyk said.
He added that the energy workers, together with the specialists of the State Emergency Service, are starting restoration work as quickly as possible in order to return the energy supply to consumers as soon as possible.
