In the Russian city of Kursk, the general director of the Kursk Region Development Corporation, Vladimir Lukin, was detained. He is suspected of large-scale abuse of official powers related to the construction of defense structures on the border with Ukraine, writes The Moscow Times.
According to Russian media, Lukin was detained. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is now being decided. According to preliminary data, due to unreasonable spending of funds, the budget suffered damage in the amount of more than 173 million rubles (approximately $1.7 million).
According to journalists, the Ministry of Internal Affairs intends to file a petition for Lukin’s arrest. If the charges are proven in court, he may be sentenced…
