Little-Known Risk of Eating Red Meat Revealed—Many Don't Even Know It – Health

However, it has long been associated with an increased risk of heart disease, cancer, and early death. It is also little known that this meat is associated with type 2 diabetes.

An article published in The Lancet highlighted the link between eating red meat and type 2 diabetes. Residents of the countries of America, the Mediterranean, Europe, Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific (20 countries in total) participated in this study.

A recent study of nearly 2 million people found that high consumption of unprocessed red meat (beef, lamb, pork) and processed meat (bacon, salami and chorizo) increased the risk of type 2 diabetes. Experts have also discovered a connection…
