French President Emmanuel Macron commented on the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria.
In his post on X (Twitter), the French leader said: “The barbarian state has fallen, finally.”
“I pay tribute to the Syrian people, their courage, their patience. In this moment of uncertainty, I send them my wishes for peace, freedom and unity,” Macron wrote.
He also added that France will continue to support security in the Middle East.
