Manuel Neuer breaks a rib and is out for the rest of the year – Sport

The German goalkeeper was injured.

The main goalkeeper of “Bayern” Munich Manuel Neuer will miss the match of the sixth round of the main stage of the Champions League of the 2024/25 season against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Vincent Kompany, head coach of the Munich team, announced this on the eve of the meeting. According to him, the 38-year-old German goalkeeper broke a rib.

“He probably won't play again this year. We expect him to come back in January,” Kompany insider Fabrizio Romano said.

Note that last week Neuer received the first red card in a career. The star goalkeeper was sent off in the 1/8 finals of the German Cup against Bayer Leverkusen, which ended in a narrow defeat and the Munich club's exit from the tournament.
