Metropolitans of the Russian Orthodox Church are suspected of helping the occupying forces in seizing churches in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

Four metropolitans of the Russian Orthodox Church were informed of the suspicion of facilitating the seizure of Ukrainian churches

According to the prosecutor's office, the metropolitans are suspected of helping to violate the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. They are charged under parts 5 and 3 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It is reported that in the period of 2022-2023, members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church actively supported the seizure of church buildings in the territories occupied by Russian troops, in particular in the Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Kherson regions and Crimea.
