European Union and Iranian diplomats held a series of meetings on Friday to begin “serious negotiations” to ease tensions in the Middle East region – particularly over Tehran's controversial nuclear program – before Donald Trump returns to the White House. Reuters reports this.
The meetings in the Swiss city of Geneva, where world powers and Iran achieved the first breakthrough in nuclear talks more than a decade ago before reaching an agreement in 2015, are the first since the US election and are aimed at seeing whether there can be any progress in negotiations before January 20, when the inauguration takes place…
