Moldova is preparing for an energy crisis: the country has introduced emergency savings measures
Currently, state and commercial enterprises are obliged to save electricity only during peak hours.
In Moldova, the Emergency Situations Commission has taken measures aimed at reducing electricity consumption during peak hours. The corresponding decision was published on the government website on Friday, December 27.
This was announced by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Moldova Kostiantyn Borosan in an interview with NewsMaker.
According to the official, the measures taken apply to both state institutions and commercial enterprises. They provide for:
- reducing the use of elevators and escalators;
- reduction of lighting inside buildings by at least 30%;
- reduction of street lighting where it does not threaten the safety of citizens;
- turning off the lighting of shop windows, advertising structures, decorations and architectural elements inside and outside buildings.
