Already, about 65% of Ukrainians who left the country due to the Russian invasion intend to stay forever in Berlin.
As the President of the State Office for Refugees (LAF) Mark Seibert told Deutsche Presse-Agentur, surveys are regularly carried out at the temporary accommodation center in the Tegel region, where thousands of Ukrainians live. A year and a half ago, most of these people announced their intention to return to Ukraine.
“Right now, about 65 percent are saying, ‘We’ll stay here. We are settling in,” Seibert said.
