According to scientists, this feature is associated with the DNA of Chernobyl dogs.

People generally believe that evolution is a fairly slow process, but the dogs that live at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant have undergone rapid evolution in the 40 years since the disaster, writes IFLScience.

In the study, scientists analyzed blood samples from dogs that roamed the power plant site, as well as dogs from nearby areas, and found that those that lived closer to the disaster site had DNA differences that showed they were genetically different from dogs in other regions of the world.
