NASA's probe survived a record approach to the Sun — Science and IT
The Parker probe had no contact with scientists during its closest approach to the Sun on December 24.
NASA's Parker Space Probe has successfully completed its closest approach to the Sun and remains in good working order. Scientists will receive detailed information from the spacecraft on January 1, the first day of the new year.

Traveling at 692,000 km/h, the Parker Solar Probe made no contact with scientists during its closest approach to the Sun on December 24.
However, scientists at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Maryland (USA) received a signal from the probe, indicating that it was in good condition and working normally.
