New details have become known about Yevhen Matveev, the mayor of the city of Dniprorudne, Zaporizhzhia region, who was kidnapped by the occupiers in March 2022, spent 2 years and 8 months in captivity, was tortured and recently returned dead.
In a comment for TSN.ua, the head of Zaporizhzhya OVA Ivan Fedorov gave details.
“He was captured on March 13, 2022. Enemies, who were already occupying Dniprorudne at that time, blocked the entrance to the city, detained the bus of the employees of the iron ore plant. He tried to free the employees,” Ivan Fedorov reported.
He added that the occupiers released the employees of the iron ore plant, and Yevhen Matveev was taken prisoner.
