None of the Playstation founders knew how to make games – UNIAN

It was a time of experimentation.

The beginning of the Playstation era was a real experiment for Sony, since the team that worked on the first console essentially had no experience in the gaming industry.

Former Playstation Studios president Sean Layden spoke with Eurogamer about how the first Playstation was created. He joined the company in 1996, a year after the console launched in North America and Japan.

Layden had previously worked with then-Playstation president Terry Tokunaka on the acquisition of Columbia Pictures. This is why Tokunaka invited him to take the position of video game producer, despite Leiden's lack of relevant experience.
