There was an oil leak in the Sea of Azov after the accident of two Russian tankers – “Volgoneft 212” and “Volgoneft 239”. Oil spilled on the coast of the Zaporizhzhia region, in particular in the Pryazovsky National Natural Park.
Park director Dmytro Volovik said this in a comment to Suspilno.
“A very serious stain. The strip of oil spillage runs along the Stepanivska Spit – 4.4 km, along the economic zone, i.e. Kyrylivka – approximately 18.7 km, the reserve Fedotova Spit in the direction of Byryuchy – 1.7 km. That is, the entire coast. We are 100% we know. As for our territory of the nature reserve, the wind blows away the fuel and lubricants from shore,” said the ecologist.
