On the eve of the New Year holidays in Ukraine, there is a noticeable increase in the demand for greenhouse tomatoes, which caused an active increase in prices for these products.

Analysts of the EastFruit project write about this,

In the last week alone, prices for greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine have increased by an average of 20%. Today, imported tomatoes are sold at UAH 80-100 per kilogram ($1.91-2.38/kg), depending on the quality, volume of the batch and type of product.

Experts note that this week the supply of tomatoes on the market was insufficient, as local plants did not sample due to the end of the season. At the same time, imported products could not fully satisfy the growing demand, which allowed sellers to raise prices for imported tomatoes.
