Oreshnik rocket – a new system created on the basis of the RS-26 Rubezh – UNIAN
The ballistic missile that Russia used to strike Ukraine was created on the basis of the Russian RS-26 Rubezh missile.
Sabrina Singh, spokeswoman for the United States Department of Defense, announced this during a briefing. She noted that Moscow had previously notified Washington through nuclear risk reduction channels:
“I can confirm that Russia has indeed launched an experimental medium-range ballistic missile. This ballistic missile was created based on the Russian model of the RS-26 Rubezh intercontinental ballistic missile.
