Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are currently unlikely — Politics
The Ukrainian side will likely demand the withdrawal of Russian troops, compensation and the handover of war criminals, while Russia will insist on its territorial claims.
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, which Donald Trump has repeatedly stated, look unlikely and difficult to implement.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko told about this in an interview for Channel 24.
The diplomat emphasized that usually negotiations begin at lower levels: delegations work out all the details, and only after that it is possible to sign agreements at the political level.
According to Ogryzko, if the parties appoint delegations, there will be difficulties even with the meeting place, as Russians may not be accepted in civilized countries. In addition, it will be difficult to come to an agreement due to radically different positions of the parties.
