Peace talks on the end of the war: the Kremlin's terms and Ukraine's position


In recent months in Ukraine and around the world, more and more politicians are discussing scenarios for the end of the war. In most cases, the first step to a frontline ceasefire is to start peace talks.

Zelensky states that Ukraine must be in a strong position to sit down at the negotiating table with Kremlin dictator Putin. In turn, the Russian Federation indicates that it is “ready for a ceasefire”, but is not sure of the readiness of the Ukrainian side.

In particular, the latest statements of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov indicate that the Kremlin is not against starting negotiations, but the ceasefire in Ukraine does not suit it.
