People's deputy of Ukraine Yevhen Shevchenko was charged with treason under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This was announced by the Office of the Prosecutor General and adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Leshchenko.
The investigation established that the deputy systematically supported and publicly disseminated the narratives of the aggressor country through his public speeches and interviews, where he used specially selected information and manipulative techniques, influencing public opinion and perception of the external and internal political course of Ukraine.
