Poland explained why they cannot transfer old MiG-29s to Ukraine – UNIAN
The Polish Minister of Defense explained how Poland is now using these aircraft.
Poland has no plans to transfer the rest of its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, as they are needed to protect Polish skies. The country's Minister of Defense Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh stated this on ZET radio.
He emphasized that the MiG-29 aircraft that Ukraine is asking for are “patrolling the Polish sky.”
“They serve Polish pilots to improve their skills and qualifications so that they are ready to defend their homeland. I cannot say that I agree to the transfer of aircraft that are used to protect Poland and patrol the Polish skies,” the minister emphasized.
When asked whether Poland should shoot down missiles over Ukraine, the Polish minister replied: “No.”
