Prices for eggs in Ukraine

Last year in November, a dozen eggs in Ukraine cost 61 hryvnia. Now, although prices may vary, they can be found for 63-72 hryvnia, Oleg Pendzin, an expert at the Economic Discussion Club, told Ukrainian Radio.
“At the beginning of summer, the cost of eggs decreased. This was due to the fact that we exported fewer eggs, because the borders were closed, the Poles were not allowed into their market. Because of this, there was an excess of eggs within the country. Supply exceeds demand, egg prices have decreased. Now they are growing. The main reason for the increase in egg prices is the direct cost of egg production at poultry farms, 70% of the cost of eggs is feed,” the expert explained.
