Relatives of Bashar Assad were detained in Lebanon with fake passports
They wanted to get to Egypt, but the attempt failed.
The wife and daughter of one of the cousins of the president of Syria Bashar Assadwhose regime was overthrown by rebels, was arrested with forged passports in the capital of Lebanon.
This was reported by the Associated Press with reference to Lebanese law enforcement officers and representatives of the security service.
It is about the wife of Duraid Assad – the son of the former vice president of Syria Rifaat Assad, the uncle of Bashar Assad – Rasha Hazem and their daughter Shams. They were illegally taken to Lebanon – from there they were supposed to fly to Egypt.
According to officials, Rifaat had flown the day before with his real passport.
