Russia increases pressure on Europe over war in Ukraine amid US uncertainty – ISW
Russia is trying to dictate the terms of negotiations with Ukraine.
The Kremlin is intensifying a campaign of reflexive control to influence decision-making in the West in favor of the Russian Federation ahead of or instead of possible future negotiations on a settlement of the war in Ukraine.
This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
On November 15, Putin held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and repeated several Kremlin information operations aimed at influencing the German government and other Western powers to sway Ukraine toward early peace talks instead of providing Ukraine with further military support.
